B&Q visit

Published by under Daily Post,Movies

Just got back from Chorlton and a visit to B&Q, got a load of paint for redocarating the front room and hallway, some colour called Toffee Truffle or something, Mel choose the colour as it will stay a bit cleaner with Blue walking past it all the time, did’nt see many people about in Chorlton, had a try of electriks platter, pretty tasty indeed and well worth the money.

Now vegging at home and considering watching Room 1408

Big Chill post continued

Published by under Daily Post,Movies,Music,Videos

Well I’ve recovered a bit now from the cold I caught at the BCF 2008 and can tell you a little bit more about who and what we saw there.

Well band wise I managed to see :

The Orb

Thievery Corporation (about 20 mins of as we left the orb 1/2 way through)

African Head Charge (Very good band)

Leonard Cohen (Again very good)

The girl from Moloko (Very good and very sexy )

Norman Jay ( No words can express)

Trentmollier (Liked a lot)

David Holmes (Not as good as I’d have expected)

Saw lots more, but can’t remember who as was extremely battered most of the time.

Things we saw :

The Cider Bus (Mmmmm Cider)

The Big Warm ( Could have been warmer, the fireworks were ace)

The Big Hill (Well it actually said the Big Chill, but someone knocked the C down)

The Sunrise area (Fine until the 60+ naked female naturalist appeared)

Vans, Mr and Mrs Black from the forum

15 Dangermouse’s (Not happy about this one as I went as Dangermouse too)

And thats about all you’ll get out of me for this years Big Chill as I was to battered and full of cold to take much notice this year, but maybe you might see something I’ve missed on my videos below

McLoving . . SuperBad

Published by under Movies

Superbad has got to be one of the best films I’ve seen in a long long time, not laughed to myself over a film like this since Porky’s.

Just loved the character of Seth, so reminded me of one of my mates (Ash you know who you are)

If you haven’t seen this movie yet, go see it I promise you will not be disappointed

300 – Frank Miller

Published by under Daily Post,Movies

I can honestly say I have not enjoyed a film as much as I did this, absolutely fantastic adaption of an ageless story of the Spartan Army of 300 against the might of the Persian Empire, the cinematography is amazing, while the fight scenes are truly breath-taking, I’d heard alot of people hadn’t enjoyed this movie, god knows why, this movie is blinding to watch, I loved the cockiness of the Spartans and how they taunted there enemies.

Beleive me if you haven’t seen this movie yet, go see it now, don’t take the girlfriend unless she like you enjoys a real good movie

Sorry if I’m not a very good film critic/reviewer but I know a good movie when I see one

GhostRider

Published by under Movies

I had great expectations for this film when I first heard about it, also had expectations when I heard Nicolas Cage was going to play GhostRider, but sadly I was let down by this movie, the effect’s however were pretty good, just the actual story was pretty lame, the movie played more like a pilot show for the Sci-Fi Channel.

To be honest they could have done with a little bit more action, every time GR came up against a baddy in the movie it was like over in about 5 minutes, I’m sure that even the crappiest villain could have lasted more then 5 minutes in a fight and these guys were supposedly Hell Spawned killers ffs.    Seems as if all the big movie houses have jumped on the Marvel bandwagon and attempted to bring comic books to the masses and have failed miserably, I’d have thought after the mistake that was DareDevil they’d have learnt there lesson and eitehr given up completely or at least attempted to make the stories more realistic and beliveable . . . maybe they should have anotehr go at making Howard the Duck, this time it might actually be better then the other crap there releasing
