It’s a Blog ! Not a Log !

Been a while since I’ve had chance to update this Blog, been awfully busy of late, repairing, reinstalling peoples PC’s, it’s all I ever seem to do in my spare time at the moment. Why is it people presume that if you work with computers you know everything about them (Ok I do now everything about them nrly), and your quite happy to repair them for nothing in your own time. If I had a handle attached to my side I’d be a mug.

So anyway so far this week I have done 2 rebuilds, 1 repair, still one rebuild to do, tying to put off till weekend, god I lead an exciting life. Other things happening, well got my mate Paul coming to visit in the next few weekends, also got Mel’s dad Fred visiting from Ireland and then in another 14 days have got the Lan Party to look forward to, still awaiting and answer from NTL in regards sponsorship, but looks good so far, had another response from Linksys, they have decided not to sponsor us as our event is to small to give maximum exposure, so with that in mind we are hooking up with another Lan Organiser and arranging to do a 200 person Lan Party (I must be mad!)

Well got back from a visit to my mothers to repair her printer (read previous entry) late last night.
As for today didn’t really do anything of interest, got out of bed about 1:30pm, reckon the drive back must have really tired me out, either that or it was a delayed hangover from the previous night who knows. Cleaned the rats out and let them have the run of the front room for an hour or 2, there totally mental the pair of them, found they’d figure out how to get into the air vent on the back wall, trying to escape no doubt, managed to recapture the pair of them and made sure the vents was secured to stop future attempts (next they’ll be digging tunnels).

Picked Mel up from work, popped into see her mother and then have just chilled out till now, but gotta burn some cd’s for someone at work otherwise they’ll be on my case in the morning no doubt, the things I promise people, I’ve really got to learn to manage my time more efficiently. Anyway off for a bath now and then have a game of Counterstrike for a few hr’s then bed.

Well I’m now in my hometown of Market Weighton after getting a call from my mum last night telling me her computer and printer was broke, well being the dutiful son, I jumped straight in my car and drove a cross to have a look at it, and guess what ? The printer had run out ink ff’s, well at least it gave me the opportunity to see my mum, also while i’ve been here my sisters computer is broke so I’m fixing that now, just waiting for win2k to load up onto it.
Anyway as for last night when I got back here I went out for a drink in my old local pubs, was out for about an hour, and while I was chatting to my sister and her husband a woman who was with them said hello and said “you don’t recognise me do you”, well i must admit she looked familiar but wasn’t sure, so my sister gave me a clue and I got it straight away, it was Michelle Mortimer, god I hadn’t seen her in yrs at least 20, anyway she seems to be well, she’s living in goa, india, and I’m not jealous at all,hopefully me and Mel are going to Goa next yr so we’ll have to drop in and say hello. Anyway Michelle if you ever read this I just gotta say your as stunning as ever, and if Mel reads this your even more stunning (gotta say that or she might stop doing my washing LoL).

Anyway gotta get back to doing my sisters computer so cya tomorrow .

17/10/03 – 6:00pm
Well staying up till nearly 3:00am wasn’t such a good idea, I slept in this morning and had to rush to work and make my excuses (note to self “go to bed earlier in future”)
Had a few problems with the Rat-Kam as well, its a Logitech Wireless, and it would seem someone nearby must either have a ham radio or be a taxi driver as something kept interfering with the signal, hopefully got it sorted now.

Work wise today was the usual crap, had to take some photo’s of some toolkits to be included in a online catalogue were doing at work, didn’t want to but apparently my boss thinks taking photo’s with a digital camera comes under the umbrella of the IT Dept, next they’ll have me repairing the Microwave in the canteen cause it has a circuit board in it ff’s.
Smoked about 5 ciggy’s today, shouldn’t really be smoking any but what the hell I’m gonna die someday anyway, drank to much coffee, probably cause I was still tired from last night.
Had some good news and some bad news regarding the Lan Party I’m helping organise, good news 1st, Kate at NTL’s PR company informed me that she’s going to put our proposals for sponsorship to them tomorrow and that she thinks what were asking for is spot on, she also said they’ll probably offer a years free Broadband as a prize for our Tournament Winners, which I think is rather cool, so keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

Now the bad news : We’ve now been informed by the people who were renting the premises off for the Lan Party need the cash now and were still short by about �50, on top of that the liability insurance is gonna cost us over �100, so were desperately trying to get more people to sign up for the Lan, got 21 so far, but we aim to get 50 at least.
Anyway hungry now so l8z

There finally finished the new web site, after much chain-smoking and huddling over a ash-covered keyboard I’ve finally got most of it done, probably still allot to do to it but I’m so tired now I cant tell.

So off to bed I go, just hope I get a good nights sleep.
