Car Tax Renewal :)

Published by Vince under Daily Post

So I’ve popped my online Tax Disc renewal this evening and it was dead easy, no having to q up with old biddies smelling of we and the such like.

I can highly recommend it to anyone who wants to avoid q’s and the fuss of trying to get it done in your lunch hour or 1/2 hr etc.

Well after my last post

Published by Vince under Daily Post

I’m feeling alot better considering the amount I had to drink that night . .  never again he says :(

So what have I been up to of late I hear you all wonder, well to be honest not much, we’ve been out for a meal at the PolarBar again and I’ve been to Bernie’s and loaded 40gi’s worth of music on her PC and that’s about it really.   So nothing to report I’m afraid, though I do have some sad new’s, a rather delightful young lady I chat to at Chubb Security is leaving and now I’ll not have a reasonable excuse to ring her up and shoot the breeze, unless she goes to a company that might have dealings with us, but thats very unlikely, thought there is a silver lining . .  she’s moving to a firm about a mile away, so suppose we can always meet for lunch :)

Well its god only knows

Published by Vince under Daily Post

What time it is in the morning, but I’m slightly pissed here, sat at this keyboard of an early Saturday morning, so nothing to see here move along please and make some room for the ramblings of me.

Just been out to Stretford, Chorlton and finally Urmston for a curry, though in the end just could’nt be arse and left Amand and Nicky getting a curry and last saw John and Kenny making a dash for the bright twinkling lights and music of Mambo’s night club, me I just wanted home, to chill and have a few sharks

Piss funny thing just happened at work

Published by Vince under Daily Post

I was feeling bored today at work but something’s just happend that has totaly brightened up my day noe end, we’vejust bought a new fangled paper laminater for the office and it arrived this morning, its one of those that will do paper upto A3and has the lamination plastic on a big roll attached to the back of it. . a
anyway Tony my youthful partner in crime in the IT Dept decides he’s the one who’s going to put it togeather and thread the plastic through the laminator ready for doing the first job . . . So he’s got it allput togeather and he’s lent over it while he threads the plastic through it, this involves feeding a piece of card A4 size through the system as if its laminating it, anyway the piece of card eventually comes out the back of the machine . . so there he is lent over the laminater when he starts getting all flustered and shouting at me to unplug it . .everyone in the office sort of stops what there doing and starts looking round at him and notice that he seems to be bent over the Laminator a bit to far and seems to be getting closer to it, while at the same time trying to get his tie off . . . At this point the penny clicks and we realise that while he was lent over the machine it had only gone and started laminating his tie, and everyone in the office either starts laughing or rushing to get to the laminators plug . . before the plug can be pulled, we manage to find the reverse switch on the laminater and a very pressed tie starts to reappear from the laminators workings . .

Published by Vince under Daily Post

Well its been just over a week since we got back from Morocco and I’m really wishing I was back there, can’t be arse with this work lark anymore, having to listen to the noise of all the fellow worker drones talking about last nights TV and deciding which dodgy Chrome filled nightclub there going to this weekend. . . me I’m gonna have a quiet one and sort out our holiday pictures, though Levi’s having a party Saturday night so may jsut head across there for a couple of hrs

On another note, nobodys recieved any of the cards we sent from Morocco yet . .

Just had a shock . .

Published by Vince under Daily Post

Well I’d just been out having a ciggy in my 15 min break and as I’m walking back to the reception I notice a care parked up with a bloke in.

Anyway just presume its a client/customer about to visit the premises, so there i am walking into reception, anyways while waiting for the lift I realise I need to spend a penny and decide to use the toilet in reception, so grab the door handle and pull it open . . .  only to close it almost immediately when I discover a woman sat there having a pee/poo, apologising profusely as I close the door and explaining that the door was’nt locked.

Poor woman responds saying it was, anyway decide better scarper upstairs back to the office and pray to god she’s not come to see me.

Anyway wait about 10 mins and begin to realise that no-ones gone to reception to meet her, ask around if anyone’s got a client/customer waiting in reception, turns out nobody has.

Investigate a bit more, check the CCTV footage of outside and realise that the car outside was waiting for the woman and that they’d just pulled up to use our toilet …   so now I don’t feel so guilty about disturbing her . .  well shit me up though I can tell you, though I’d sure she was more shocked then me

Mel’s still feeling ill

Published by Vince under Daily Post

Well we’ve been back from Morocco now for about 4 day’s and Mel’s still suffering from Marakeesh Belly, she can’t seem to keep anything in her for more than a couple of hours, luckily I’ve not been the same, though did have a few day’s where I thought I might have caught something, but think it was just your basic upset stomach.

Here’s hoping she feels better when I get home tonight.

Shock . . my wallet nrly cried

Published by Vince under Daily Post

So as you may have seen a few days ago I posted that we’d had to take one of our pet rats Ruby to the Vets to have a Tumour removed ( at a cost of £118), the operation was a success and she was given stiche’s . . . however rats being rats, she decided she did’nt like them and proceeded to chew them out, well after 2 more visits and a 3rd set of stiche’s, the Vet decided that some glue might help . . .
(Cost for putting Ruby under and applying stiches about £12 a pop = £36)

Oh no Ruby thought glue wont work and proceeded to chew most of the glue out and the remaining stiche’s (Cost for putting Ruby under and applying glue and new stiches £12). . .

well as we were going on holiday the next day we really had to get someone to look after her incase she had to visit the vets yet again, luckily we managed to find a vets in Chorlton that runs a sort of Holiday service for rodents, so we took her there and explained everything that had happened and how she kept taking the stiche’s out, so after checking her over and signing a consent form, we left her there . . (cost to house Ruby until we got back from hols about £3 a day 7 days = £21)

Well we eventually picked her up on Monday 2 days later then we expected and was informed that she’d again chewed out her stiche’s and that the vet had decided to apply surgical staples to the area, in the hope that this would work(Putting Ruby under and applying Staples £40), , but alas Ruby proceeded to chew around them and they litterally fell out, so it was decided that the best option was to manage the wound/operation area as an open wound i.e. keeping her and the wound clean until it scabbed and sealed . .

This actually worked and now thankfully the wound has healed . .

So in vet bills alone she so far cost us £227

Now add the price of the cage we had to buy for her after the original operation to seperate her from her sister while she healed £22

So Ruby has turned into our most expensive rat yet at a cost of £249 quid, not bad going for a rat that originally only cost me

£3

Its at time like this i feel like crying . . .
