a close friend who’s fast approaching her 43rd birthday, it’s not an easy decision thinking of things to buy them, so far I’ve considered :
1. A Toy-Boy
2. HRT Treatment
3. Viagra (It apparently works on woman)
4. Zimmer Frame
5. Botox
6. A Sports Bra
Bernadillo having it large when she was a spritly 40 years old
None of these though are the things I think she’d really want, I suppose I could go with the tradition type of things like :
1. A Cd of her favourite band (But what if she has it already, after all they are her favourite band)
2. Some underwear and socks (She’ll probably get this off her sister and brother anyway)
3. Some flowers or wine (Her daughters boyfriend will probably be getting her flowers and wine)
4. Money (She’ll get this off her mum and dad I’m guessing)
So there’s not much left really is there, I cant even get her a pet as she’s just acquired a kitten, suppose I could take her out for a meal, but then again people might think she’s my mum (just kidding).
Think I’ll get her something quirky as she’s a quirky sort of person who sort of likes quirky things, wonder if I could get hold of a stuffed parrot or maybe a piece of the Berlin Wall, its just knowing what would be quirky and wanted, feel free to leave a suggestion for ideas in the comments section of this post, I’ve only got until Saturday so hurry

had a good time with Liam, Steve and Mel at Ben’s, only issue of the evening was Mel ringing up at 1:30am and deciding that she wanted to join us, this meant yours truely had to drive the 30+miles back to Manchester to pick Mel up, luckily i’d only had 1 beer and even luckier Liam came along for the drive, thus preventing me from getting to bored on the way back.
So what did we do that evening . . . we just chilled in the Hot Tub and came up with a plan to get one of our close friends into hot water, can’t really say to much as don’t want to give it away, but when we do put the plan into practice its gonna be piss funny . . .
With regards the rest of the weekend, well that was spent recovering from the night, seems my 42yr old body can’t take the strain of partying hard on a Friday anymore, but that’s to be expected I suppose, we all have to slow down at some point and I think I’m starting to do that now, though we do have another party this Friday, so I suppose I can make it out for that one at least

This is something I’ve always wondered about, but never really investigated, but thanks to the wonder of the internet and a few clicks of my mouse I found this
Surname: Elgey
Recorded in several spellings as shown below, this unusual and interesting surname is English and of pre 7th century origins. It is one of the variant forms of the surname created from the Middle English personal name “Alger”. This name is a result of the “falling together” of several names of different origins, including Old English, Anglo-Saxon and laterafter the conquest of 1066, Norman-French. The final element of all of them is “gar or ger”, both meaning a spear, while the first element is usually “alb”, meaning elf or “adal”, noble, or “ald”, old, resulting in such names as “Aelfgar” (elf-spear), “Aethelgar” (nobel-spear) and “Ealdgar” (old-spear). The modern surname spellings include Algar, Algore, Algy, Elgar, Elgy, Elgey, Elgee and others. Early examples of recordings taken from surviving church registers of the city of London include John Elgee who was christened at St James Clerkenwell in 1667 and William Elgy christened at All Souls Marylebone, on June 27th 1852. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Robert Elger. This was dated 1271, in the “Ancient Deeds of Norfolk”, during the reign of King Henry 111, known as “The Frenchman”, 1216 – 1272. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was sometimes known as the Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to “develop” often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.

I’m having a lads night tonight with a couple of mates, one being Tony from work, but this depends on whether or not he can get some parts for his car or not, at the moment it’s looking like he can, but we won’t know for definite until later today when his mate texts him. Ideally the plan is that we get pissed and see what happens, simple enough plan I think you’ll agree, its just going to be about 4-5 of us having a laugh and taking the piss out of each other for the evening and maybe at the same time righting a few wrongs in the world. Will probably post more when I know exactly what we’re going to be doing.
Update:
Tony’s just informed me he can’t make it now, which is a bit of a downer as was looking forward to having a beer with him, not really been out for a beer with him and considering we’ve been working together now for about 4-6yrs that’s quite weird, but he has assured me he will try and join us on our next lads night out round Chorlton, which at the moment is looking at being around the 1st Nov (a Saturday night), it’s about a month off so he’ll have no excuses for this one and apparently he’s looking forward to meeting Ash . . . he don’t know what he’s letting himself in for if you ask me . .

Now normally I probably wouldn’t got to this but being a fan of Sci-Fi and crime novels I’m sorely tempted . . . the reason I’m tempted is because on Saturday 18th Oct they’ve got writer Paul Carnell and Ian Edginton will be there to I presume have a Q & A on what its like to create comics explaining the pitfalls, the highs, the lows with the fans of there work.
Paul Carnell has worked on creating comics based on the BBC’s Dr Who, hes also worked on Wisdom and Benny Summerfield amongst others.
Ian Edginton has also worked on the Dr Who magazine, Marvel, DC Comics, Planet of the Apes, Predator, Aliens, Torchwood and my favourite 2000AD.
This should be quite a good one for anyone thinking of maybe starting up a comic fanzine, as this will give you a heads up and you never know one day you might be up there instead telling others who you did it and how these 2 inspired you.
There’s plenty more going on at the MLF that I am after seeing, but will discuss these in another post as presently I cant find my MLF guide, so having to do this from memory.

Woooohoooo seems my blog’s gone from being at position 678 about 4 months back, upto position 40:) and that’s all thanks to you people who read my blog . . . so a big thxs from me to you.
For those who don’t know Blogtoplist, it’s a website that list Blogs and the amount of hits they get each week, better still let them explain (this is off there website)
How it works
This is a blog directory that is sorted by the score each blog has received during the week. 100 unique visitors will generate the same amount of score as 1 unique vote. To get a vote the blog author needs to send the vistior to us through the voting button and then the visitor needs to click on the button to vote for the blog. The tracking button tracks the blogs visitors and give the blog score without requiring the visitor to interfare. You can use both methods to get a good rank in the directory. The score is updated every 15 minutes and resets back to zero each monday at 00:00 GMT.
So I may only be at no 40 for another day, but hey it’s still something to be cheerful about.

there’s lots of sun about and it’s fairly warm and I’m guessing most people are taking advantage of it . . whereas I’m stuck in work waiting for some electricians to finish the jobs there doing
Once they’ve finished I’ve then got to reboot all the PC systems ready for Monday morning, at the moment that looks as though its going to be about 5hrs away, so won’t be getting home till about 5pm, so that’s my Sunday gone, but at least I’ll have about 6hrs worth of overtime to look forward to in m wage packet this month
In other unrelated news Blue’s getting back to being herself, she now appears to have stopped lactating and she’s no longer hiding in her hole in the garden (no more trails of dust or mud round the house now), though she is still carry one or two of her toy’s around with her and still being a bit of a drama queen, but its no way as bad as it originally was.
Blue . . . shes a Princess
We’ve also had the results of her urine sample and its has confirmed that she is not pregnant, thus as suspected our Cane Corso is suffering from a phantom pregnancy and all its associated symptoms.
Anyway I’m sing my mobile phone to connect my laptop to the Internet at the moment and it’s probably costing me a fortune, so for the time being I’ll say TTFN

due to a few things happening in the real world that have needed my full and undivided attention, cut a long story short someones threatened me with violence and I’m presently in the process of trying to find a legal resolution to the problem, unlike the person who’s threatened me, I’ve had some sound advice from a friend in the legal quarter about what to do next and where to go with it next, just now got to get the loose ends tied up and then hopefully I can move on from this.
Will get back you when I know exactly where its going and hopefully have a good result which I can share with you all.

You got through life sometimes with your eyes wide shut thinking that being a nice to people will just reciprocate itself by them being nice to you . . but this doesn’t work in the real world, you soon discover people have hidden agenda’s or have opinions about people who they think they know, but in fact they know nothing about them.
I have a hidden agenda’s and I’m quite happy to share it with you all: “Its not to have a hidden agenda” and thats all it is.
I’ve spent to much of my life surrounding myself with people who I thought were friends to slowly discover that a lot of them are there either for a free ride or to get close to those I know, I like to think that I’m a good judge and can now spot these sorts of people, but even I get fooled sometimes.
So why am I rambling on about this you wonder, well recently I discovered that people who I’ve thought as friends have actually never really liked me at all, seems they’ve just been playing me along, but I now know this , I’m actually glad I know this now, because recently I myself have had 2nd thoughts about these friends and just thought I was being paranoid and I actually felt guilty about it, but thankfully I’ve been proved right.
But it’s still quite sad to discover something like this, especially as you grow older and supposedly wiser, friends are something that I’ve always valued, people I’ll go out of my way to help and assist if I can, people I want close when times get hard or when you need someone to be there for you.
Anyway enough about that, just wanted to get it off my chest . . and now I have, so time to move on I think
