Kenny and Andys Birthday

Published by Vince under Birthdays,Daily Post

kennys party 071, originally uploaded by BagRat.

Kenny reached the grand old age of 50 last week along with Andy reaching the 40 mark, so they had a joint party to celebrate and used the oppurtunity to get everyone back togeather again.

It was good to see all the faces from the partys togeather again having a laugh and just generally getting on, party kicked off at of all places Stretford Cricket Club, then moved onto Lisa’s flat, where drinks flowed and people talked bollox (mainly due to what they’d had).

We left fairly early on in the morning 5:00am so maybe not so early, but the party carried on after we left, ending only when John, Ben and a few others decided to place most of Lisa food stuffs in the freezer . . . oh and after Ben had emptied a full bag of flour over the sleeping Lisa’s head (not nice Ben).

Gotta say Kenny was looking good for an old man and no doubt has many years left in him, all the best Kenny and Andy :)

Morning walk at Chorlton Water Park and now . .

Published by Vince under Daily Post,Flickr Gallery

enjoying a nice sausage sarnie at electriks washed down with a double shoot latte, that’ll wake me up and get me raring to go if nothing else.

Will have to go shopping ton Aldi afterwards though need to do a big shop after the hol’s as the cupboards are bare, not even a bone for poor old Blue to chew on :(

So what plans do we have for tonight ? thinking maybe of going to Ben’s tonight and catching up with him, as been a while since we’ve seen him, so should have plenty to gossip about I reckon, plus theres the Hot Tub to use, that’ll definately get rid of all these knots in my back and shoulders that are left from the 9hr drive back from Cornwall.

Anyway to see what Chorlton Water Park looks like check out the latest photo’s I’ve uploaded to Flickr, I’ve taken a few Panoramics of the water park to give you a good view of the place and let you see why its one of mine and Blues favourite walks

All alone . . .

Published by Vince under Daily Post

Well apart from Blue, yeah poor Vince is holding down the fort while Mel’s having a girls night in Blackpool with her sister, I was hoping to have a lad’s night, but it seems most of them are in the Lakes at either Phil’s or Ben’s caravan, so what is Vince going to do with himself today ?

Thus far I’ve done Blues morning walk round Ivy Green, i’ve managed a Supreme Breakfast at Orlando’s and now I’m sat in Electrik’s having a nice cold Hoeggarden and watching the world of Chorlton slowly go by, actually thought there’d be more people out and about today, but’s it fairly quiet round here, not many people in the bar, guessing there all outside somewere enjoying the sun.

Tried ringing Ben and John to see if the’d care to join me, but Ben’s got plans at the moment and as for John he’s still in bed recvering from last nights excess’s after the Prodigy gig, no doubt he and Sophie went overboard and probably did’nt get to bed till stupid o’clock this morning, I’ll try giving him a call later and see if he’s up for drink or 2 tonight.

Anyway while I was at Orando’s had a quick chat with Rupert who’s given me the heads up about his next little project, can’t really say much at the moment, but watch this space, for when the time comes I shall divulge more.

Best get back to people watching and drinking my Hoeggarden before it gets to warm and the sun disappears.

You can do everything from bird watching, walking, cycling there as well as having a traditional picnic on one of the benchs provided.

The site is owned and maintained by United Utilities and part of it is a designated Site of Biological Importance.

Starting to feel human again

Published by Vince under Daily Post

Well after being awake now for 4hrs I’m starting to feel a little bit less rougher, my heads stopped pounding, nothings blurry anymore and I can actually remember my friends names.

Every one’s now made there way home and it’s just me, Mel and Blue chilling out, thanking god that we actually booked tomorrow of work :) , last night was just gonna be 4 of us having a quiet one, then Ben arrived at 1:15am, closely followed by Debbie and Damian, with Chris, his missus and 2 friends, so by about 2:30am our lounge was heaving with people and random conversations, turned out to be quite a good night all in all, photo’s will be posted at some point over the next few day, but still not fully conversant with how to operate a computer with the remnants of last nights hangover inducing session, alcohol’s very bad for you especially if your not a big drinker, but it was fun :)

Anyway hope everyone else out there had a good one and spent New Years eve in good company, might post more later depends how I feel.

So what plans for today then .

Published by Vince under Daily Post

Well to start off we’ve been for our usual walk around Ivy Green with Blue, saw a few of the oterh regular dog walkers and there dogs, was especially nice to bump inot the lady from Irlam with her rottie Marley, Blue certainly seems to like him and the feelings reciprecated, plus Marley tires Blue out a fair bit with all the running and chasing.

Headed to Orlando’s afterwards for the Supreme Breakfast and Blues sausages, this is sort of becoming a pilgrimage every weekend now, can’t be helped though as there breakfasts are indeed very supreme, can’t recommned this place enough for breakfast.

The afternoons been spent catching up on a few TV series I’ve been downloading, these being Supernatural, The Fringe, The Sanctuary, My name is Earl and Stargate Atlantis, so had a bit of the square eyes after watching all those, probably now going to play 1/2 hr of Left 4 Dead (very addictive game).

The this evening it shall be a wander across to John and Sophies where hopefully Liam and Ben shall be and an evening of Merriment shall ensue no doubt . .  just have to wait and see

The Party’s started

Published by Vince under Birthdays,Daily Post

Well it started at the Green Windmill, where we enjoyed a few good bands and a few good drinks, saw Zoe and her partner, whose name I never did quite here the first time I met him, blame it on the loud music, so my apolgies for not knowing your name, anyway when we left the Green Windmill the night was still quite young so after a few times being a taxi I got everyone back to Bernies and were all here now, the roll call so far is :

Bernie, Amanda, Debbie,Nicola, Stacy, Lisa, Cath,Liam, Damian, Kev, Andy, Paul,Steve,Phil, Jon,Mel and Me.

Think it might turn into a bit of a mad one, shame Ben, John, Sophie and Ash are’nt here, but its not to be, saddens me a bit does that, Niki and Andy are’nt here either or Kenny again a bit of a shame, but theres always next time.

Not seen Kev and Andy since Blackpool, good to see the pair of them, really good lads the pair of them, was’nt to sure of Kev when I first met him a couple of years ago, but then again we were both a bit fucked to be honest, but think Kev and Andy are top lads, invited them out for our lads night out in Nov while Mel’s away the cats will play.

Leslie and Tim were out with us, but they decided not to come back with us, Leslie’s had a shit week, shame as it would have been nice again to have everyone here, so what is it about us lot when we get togeather, were mad for it as they say, were more then mad for it I think, we enjoy it to much to be mad for it, I’ve managed to rest control of the music so we’re listening to a bit of dance music which everyone seems to be getting into, well I hope they are anyway, if not tough shit I’m the dj for the night so fcuk em all :)

So does Bernie look any older for being 43 well her tits seem closer to the floor, but thats about it, shes still the same excitable Bernie that we all love and hold dear, and we would’nt want or have her any other way . . .

Happy Birthday Bernie may many birthdays follow and may all of them be in the company of friends and to those who are’nt here I’m thinking of you all and your here in spirit if nothing else.

Well its nearly 3:00am here and while I’m typing this the party’s going on around me and I now need to say bye for now and go mingle and mix.

Party night tonight

Published by Vince under Blue,Daily Post

Its arrived . . . the day when Bernie celebrates her 43rd year on planet earth and how is she going to celebrate . .  yep she’s going out with us lot . . . poor poor Bernie, what is she letting herself in for, the plan so far is to meet up at the Green Windmill in Stretford drink large quantities of beer and then head back to Bernie’s place for the end of the evening/morning.

We’re intending arriving about 9:00pm-9:30pm, by which time it should be in full effect, so I hopefully won’t have much time to drink before we head back to Bernie’s, as don’t fancy getting wasted tonight as still recovering from last weekend’s shenanigans at Ben’s.

We’ve now gone and bought Bernie her b-day present and I’m not going to reveal to you lot what it is, you can just wait until the after Bernie’s party post to find out.

I’m probably going to do one quite early from the party as Blue our Cane Corso’s still feeling a little under the weather with her phantom pregnancy, so don’t want to be leaving her all alone all night as the last time we did she apparently kept the neighbours up with her howling, seems she was missing us and wanted the world to know, just a shame it was at about 2:00am in the morning, sorry Jane :(

On the subject of Blue and her phantom pregnancy, it does seem to be subsiding now and the only symptoms remaining are her need to carry fluffy toys around with her all the time and her lactating teats, the lactating being the major symptom me thinks, thankfully she’s no longer pacing up and down all night or digging holes in the garden (this caused no end of trouble, what with muddy paw prints and shaken dirt distributed around the house), she’s also managed to get her appetite back which is good as she lost quite a bit of weight and she’s also alot more bouncier as well, all these symptoms are the reason we ended up taking her to the vet in the first place.      We’ve still got one more visit to the vets in the next week or so, just to have a check up and to arrange for her to be splayed (something I suppose we should have done when we got her), once she’s been spayed she shouldn’t suffer from phantom pregnancy’s or any form of pregnancy again.

What a weekend . .

Well wasn’t that a good weekend for a change :)

It seems as though its been months since we had such a sunny set of days, just hope that its a precursor for the Big Chill Weekend, cause if it is I might actually get a suntan before the years out.

Now suppose I’d better tell you what sort of a weekend we’ve had :

Friday : Well this was supposed to be just a quiet night in for me and Mel to watch some movies, but instead it turned into a night in with me, Mel and our mate John, how did this happen, well after we’d watched the first of our movies “The Last Castle” with Robert Redford ( a very good movie, you should watch itI got a missed call of John, so rang him back to discover he was having a bit of a relationship crisis and needed a mate to cheer him up, so got in the car picked John up went to Asda to score some beers and cider and then headed back to ours where all 3 of us talked into the early hours until John fell asleep on the recliner.

Saturday was intended to be our get everything ready for the Big Chill Weekend i.e. test the new tent, clean out under the stairs in order to find camping equipment, test pack the car to see how much room we had etc etc, but as John had stayed over the previous night this didn’t happen as planned, instead Mel, John and Blue went for a walk on the field and were later joined by Ben, who turned up at ours about 11:00am, so while they all chilled on the field I set about checking under the stairs, where I found about 4 torch’s, various camping style head wear, our camping flags and some spare gas for our camping stove, so it was a fairly successful clean up.

Next up was testing the new tent, at first this looked as though it could be a bit of a nightmare due to the instructions provided with the tent weren’t exactly the easiest to comprehend, but after about 20-30 mins I had the tent up, and if I do say so myself it looked pretty sweet indeed.

What the finished product looks like.

Anyway if your after a tent like this its the Quecha T6.2 available from all good camping shops for £169 or there abouts, we got ours from Decathlon in Stockport, the tent specs can be found here and I’ll no doubt post a review of the tent once we get back from the Big Chill.

After packing the tent away it was time to take Blue for her Saturday walk round Ivy Green and Chorlton Water Park, something we both enjoy as it gets us out of the house and gives us both a bit of exercise, something I need more then Blue, think this could be down mainly to me visiting Orlando’s afterwards for a Jerk Chicken and Salad sarnie, Blue got a sausage :)

Chorlton Water Park

Then it was home to chill out in the remaining sunshine and finish the beers from the previous night.

Sunday  was just a day to lay in bed most of the morning and then it was up and away to Ivy Green again, spent about an hour wondering round the woods and alongside the Mersey, both of which were fairly busy, put this down to the sun being out I guess, then it was off to Chorlton Green to sit in the sun and drink some beer.

Got home from the Green around 7pm and again it was watch some junk TV and the to bed.

And that dear readers was the weekend, not a truly eventful one, but still a nice one especially as the sun shone near enough the whole weekend, here’s hoping that Summers finally arrived.

Back from the Lakes . . .

Published by Vince under Daily Post

were we spent a weekend with Liam, Ben, John and Sophie, well to be honest we got back yesterday, this was due to the weather in Coniston being absolutely appalling, it was fine Friday night when we got there, but come Saturday morning it was just pissing it down, spent most of the day in the Black Bull and Ben’s caravan.

Just while I’m on about the Black Bull, I must highly recommend it, its Dog Friendly, the foods amazing (try the ale battered haddock) and the ciders mind blowing (SAXONS Cider 7.2%), the companies pretty decent as well, met some blokes from Hull of all places in there, they seemed to be having a good time, we also met a rather nice Dutch couple, who were walking there way around the lake district, which is a hell of a lot of walking indeed.

Should also mention that as is always the case when we go anywhere with Blue, she was the centre of attention, everyone wanting to know what breed she was and where she came from and how pretty she was, seems she’s building up a hell of a fan base around the country, reckon she should run for PM one day :)

After the Pub we headed back to the caravan to join the rest of them but got to admit, being confined to a caravan with no one but Ben, John and Sophie when its pissing it down outside is not the best weekend one could have, Liam realised that and left about 7:00pm on Saturday, we left at about 10:30pm, got home about 01:15am Sunday morning.

No offence to Ben, but listening to cheesy house tracks and trance tracks on a rainy Saturday afternoon is not conducent to a fun time, and Sophie if ya reading this please stop going so deep into peoples answers if someone says something just accept it, don’t try and disect it or question it, just accept that’s there answer and no matter how much you try you ain’t going to change there mind, at the most your just going to piss them off . . . there I’ve said it, and I’ve said it because your a mate.

In other news 2 friends have now parted ways, don’t know if there going to get it back on or not, but whatever they decide to do they both just need to stay friends at the very least.

Anyway that was our weekend, most of it was ok, just a few hiccups but all in all very good.
