Kenny and Andys Birthday

Published by Vince under Birthdays,Daily Post

kennys party 071, originally uploaded by BagRat.

Kenny reached the grand old age of 50 last week along with Andy reaching the 40 mark, so they had a joint party to celebrate and used the oppurtunity to get everyone back togeather again.

It was good to see all the faces from the partys togeather again having a laugh and just generally getting on, party kicked off at of all places Stretford Cricket Club, then moved onto Lisa’s flat, where drinks flowed and people talked bollox (mainly due to what they’d had).

We left fairly early on in the morning 5:00am so maybe not so early, but the party carried on after we left, ending only when John, Ben and a few others decided to place most of Lisa food stuffs in the freezer . . . oh and after Ben had emptied a full bag of flour over the sleeping Lisa’s head (not nice Ben).

Gotta say Kenny was looking good for an old man and no doubt has many years left in him, all the best Kenny and Andy :)

Just been to Northwich . .

Published by Vince under Computers,Daily Post

Got a call from Sally mum today, she’s been having a few issues with her PC, could’nt connect to the interweb, seems the new Kaspersky Anti-virus suite she’d installed was playing havoc with internet I.E.8, had a look in the settings and discovered that it was the suspicious scripts tab causing all the problems, so had to disable it, anyway its all hunkydory now and they can surf to their hearts content.

Anyway on the way there saw a nasty prang between 4 cars just before Junction 19 on the M56, looked like one had rear-ended another than the other 2 cars had clipped each other as they breaked, luckily there were 2 Police outriders a couple of cars back and they soon offered assistance, after I left the motorway saw a couple of Paramedics racing to the scene, did’nt look as though anyone was seriously injured, just maybe shaken up and a few bruises.

So after all that excitement I’m now home contemplating what to do with myself for the rest of the day, considering heading over to electriks and see if Lukes about for a brew and a chat, but until then going to catch up on Series 1 of Cold Case . .

Got bitch slapped from behind while having a piss

Published by Vince under Daily Post

Went out for the night in Chorlton with John, Myles and Sarah, was a good night until some scally mate who I’d spent the previous 30 mintues having a chat to and had a laugh with, he seemed ok,  got on fine with him and his mate, left them to go have ciggy out front of the bar, came in for a piss walked passed them both and gave them a tap on the back to acknowledge them and say what a good night we’d had and hoped they were having a good night, next thing I’m having a piss when suddenly i get a fist in the back of the head and turn round and its this scally punching me, because i’d apparently touched his arse, being the big man he bitch slapped me from behind, was’nt really hurt, just more in shock then anything

His mate was sound though just dragged him out of the bar, though next time I hope he has the decency to hit me face on rather then sucker punch me from behind

Quiet weekend

Published by Vince under Blue,Daily Post

Picture 095, originally uploaded by BagRat.

Did’nt really post to much over the weekend as I spent quite alot of it in bed, due to being called out to an alarm call at my workplace, was there from midnight Friday till 5:30am Saturday morning, so spent quite a while in bed recovering.

So seeing as most of Saturday was spent in bed thought we#d better do something on Sunday, was’nt sure what to do or where to go, but in the end we decided on Chelford Car boot.

Got there for about 12:30 and spent a good hour or so just wondering round looking for bargain’s but think we missed most of them, so just ended up buying lots of quaility cheeses instead, more about those in another post.

After leaving we thought we’d best take Blue for a walk and on the way back we chanced upon Styal Estate a rather good dog walking place, we’d heard about it before but never actually bothered to go look for it, really wish we had cause its definatly a dog friendly walk, lost of paths and fields for Blue to galavant in, I’ll stick some photo & videos up this weekend so you can see for yourselfs.

Anyway its close to 8:00am and I’d better start making my way to work, cyas laters

The Revitalised Horse and Jockey

Published by Vince under Blue,Daily Post,Dog Friendly Pubs

View outside the Horse and Jockey

Spent an enjoyable couple of hours sat outside the refurbished Horse and Jockey Pub in Chorlton last night with Mel and Blue, Mel had been there for a bit of a celebratory meal with a couple of friends from work and as is usually the case I came along to be the designated driver.

Got to say very impressed with what Peter and Simon (the new owners) have done with the place, and looking at the amount of business they’ve got so is every one else, the food looks very tasty as well, must say I’ve only had the Twice Fried Chips so far, but Mel had the Smoked haddock with potatoes (Baked in double cream, fish stock and saffron with layers of sliced potato), which was apparently very very tasty, no doubt in the coming weeks I’ll eventually sit down and eat something there myself, at the moment I’m eyeing up the Slow roasted boned breast of lamb (Rolled Breast of lamb stuffed with rosemary, garlic, thyme and golden sultanas, slow roasted and served with a thick onion, fennel and red wine gravy), mmm now if that does’nt get the old taste buds moist I don’t know what else will.

The two gents now running the Pub Simon and Peter seem quite taken with our little Princess Blue and may have ideas about getting a Cane Corso themselves, seems they’ve fallen for Blue and her Chilled out Bar/pub vibes, be nice if someone else where to get a Cane Corso in Manchester and after speaking to the pair of them they seem nice enough guys to be owned by a Corso.

The best thing about the Horse and Jockey though is that its dog friendly, something which alot of pubs are’nt anymore, so me, Mel and Blue give it a thumbs up and check it out yourselfs and see if we’re wrong :)

Bradley Day Been and Gone

Published by Vince under Daily Post

Time to put away the bunting, yes the curtain has fallen on this years Giant Bradley Day…..

I arrived home early Saturday afternoon with Mel, Liam and Gemma, after we’d got Liam and Gemma settled in there little log cabin decided to take them for a quick scoot around York to do the touristy thing, though to be honest we did’nt have long there as it was at least 3pm when we got there, had a quick beer in the Roman Baths pub and then took them around the Shambles and such like.

Liam looking all Redneck

Liam looking all Redneck

Arrived back in Weighton about 6:00pm and then met up with them both for a few drinks round Weighton, actually expected it to be a fairly busy day, but seems that most people were saving themselves for Sunday nights as the pubs were real empty, Bradley day itself was the usual stalls and street performers, was especially impressed by the guy doing the Falconary display, really entertaining and very enjoyable, did’nt see much of the Giant though.

Entered Blue in the Dog Show again this year though she was pipped at the post by a rescue Akita, in all she won 3 Rossetes:

1st Place for Most Looks Like Owner

2nd Place for Best Legs

2nd Place for Best in Show

But hey she cant be expected to win every year, got to give all the other dogs a chance, anyway after that we hung around for a few hours and then decided to head back to Manchester with Liam and Gemma and another Bradley Day was been and gone

Back in Market Weighton now

Published by Vince under Daily Post

Got back yesterda afternoon and went straight round to see  mum, got settled in then headed across to Kirkella to see my friend Lisa and catch up a abit on all the gossip, eventually got home around midnight after sharing  a bottle or wine, could’nt stay longer as had car-boots to attend today with mel and mum.

So did the carboot thing this morning, not very many bargains to catch m eye I’m afriad, but plenty of people’s eye’s were aught Blue, had lots of people enquiring after her breed, even had some ask us if we’d be at Crufts next weekend which we found amusing, especially as Blue’s breed the Cane Corso is’nt even recognised by the UK Kennel Club, then we headed to York, but decided against staying as it was just to busy with foriegn tourists.

Now me and mel are sat in one of Market Weightons wifi hotspots Bradleys Cafe/Bistro enjoying a beer and a mocha :) and of course updating my blog, as for the next 2 days  . . . no idea what we’ll be doing, but as soon as we know no doubt i’ll post about it on here so for now I’ll say ttfn

It’s that time of year. .

Published by Vince under Daily Post

When we all get pulled outside for a little chat with our Dept Heads to discuss this year’s pay review . .

So how much are we all worth this year you wonder . . . well wonder no more for our company has valued us all at 3%, yes so for every pound I get paid this year another 3p will be added to it, just enough to cover 1 months mortgage payment (well it would be if I wasn’t taxed on it that is), while being given the “Good News” I was also informed that I might hear that some people got bonus’s this year ( I wasn’t one of the lucky ones), but not to worry because it wasn’t a lot, well excuse me but it may not have been a lot, but its more then what I actually got . . so of course I’m worried, who was it that got the bonus? What did they do that I didn’t ? What can I do next year to ensure that I get one at the next pay review ? Please someone tell me. .

Nothing like a Pay review to get you down is there . . .
