According to the latest update from the Kickstarter project I invested in, the Astro Motion-Control should be here for December, the delay this time was apparently down to some plastic components and some issues with problematic sensors on the beta device, but these have now started to be ironed out and should allow the devices to be ready for dispatch in time for Christmas.
Just hope this is the case otherwise I’ll have probably replaced the camera I was originally going to use with it and then I’ll have to order a new control cable for it, which will add another god knows how many weeks before I actually get to use it.
Anyway until it arrives I’m thinking maybe seeing if the Radian project for a similar device has any left from their first production run which I can get my hands on.
Well our holiday in Dorset and Cornwall is well and truely over now, been back in Manchester about 3 weeks and I’m only just getting round to posting some of the videos I created with the GoPro and the Camalapse.
First one up is a visit to Lulworth Cove, not my best effort, but its ok for my first attempt
Next up is one of Mullion Cove, the place we stay every year we go to Cornwall, think this is about our 5th year there now and we never grow tired of the view
Final video is from our visit to The Lizard, what spectacular views you get there, it’s quite a thought provoking place to visit
All the video’s were created using either a GoPro HD Hero 2 or with a JVC Camcorder, timelapse setting were between 0.5 seconds and 1 second, the panning timelapse was created using a Camalapse.
I’m hoping to do a few more in the future, thinking maybe of doing a couple in the centre of Manchester in the summer maybe.
Well I better start by saying sorry and I’ll try to be here for you more, it’s just life gets so buys sometimes and I just dont have enough time to spending writing about the daily going’s on of Vince, Mel and Blue.
So a few things that have happened since last I posted . .
I blew my car engine up, well to be exact the timing chain broke and the resulting bits of metal associated with the chain obliterated my engine, which resulted in me having to spend in execss of £1900 getting a replacement engine put in, thankfully 6 months down the line the new engine seems to have settled in and alls well with the Beamer.
I’ve been on holiday to Pembrokeshire, where we took my mum along, been years since I’ve had a sort of family holiday and it was so nice spending time with my mum, she really enjoyed herself as well, loved the cottage we stayed in and loved the days out we had, while we were there I got the chance to play about with my new toy the GoPro HD Hero2, did a couple of videos that you’ll see below this post, the first is a time-lapse car journey from Broadhaven to Tenby and then a Panaramic Timelapse of Broadhaven beach, using nothing but the GoPro and a canabalised Egg Timer to get the panoramic view. hope you like.
Broadhaven to Tenby
Broadhaven Beach Panoramic
I was quite happy with the results of the beach and intend to try doing a few more Panoramic shoots of places we visit and seeing how they turn out, will post them up here once i do.
Anyway for now that really about it for this post, except to say I’m back . . .
Drove across to Market Weighton on Friday night and thought I’d set up the time-lapse camera on the car and do a night time-lapse of the journey along the M62 Motorway from Manchester and heres the result
Quite liking how the rain hitting the camera at the end of the trip makes it sort of trippy, got a few more to add over the next few days of our holiday in Dorset and Cornwall, so keep checking back for some more timelapse trips
Finally got around to uploading a few more of our video adventures to YouTube from the past few month’s, as usual quite a few of them are of our Cane Corso Blue on her various adventures round new dogwalks, theres also a few from our visit to Yorkshire in May and theres a video of a friends band Marble Valley when they played at the Irish Social CLub in Chorlton in April, anyway won’t bore you to much with the details, I’ll leave you to watch them and figure it out for yourselfs.
As you can see from the lack of posts I’ve not been updating my Blog much of late, so I’ve not let you know I’ve uploaded any videos to YouTube, so to remedy that heres a sample of some of the latest videos I’ve stuck up there
Heres a little vid I did of a walk round Daisey Nook a very nice Dog Walk we found over near Stockport/Oldham, definately worth the drive out, plenty of places for Blue to have a run around and its good for getting the old heart pumping
This ones of Mel’s Boss Debbie’s wedding reception we went to, it was themed around a beach party and it culmanated with Debbie and Ricks first dance, did’nt expect anything like this, but then again it was Debbie so something mad was bound to happen.
This was filmed when we went across to my mum’s for the weekend and decided to head across to Selby for the day, so set the timelapse camera up on the car and just left it to record the journey there and back, YouTube would’nt let me load my choice of music, so had to choose something from YouTube selection, but the best music but it seems to suit it
Now last but not least just a quick view of Electriks bar in Chorlton, one of our new hang outs, check it out ita a nice bar
Absolutely amazing to watch, when I first saw it I thought it was miniatures in action, but in actual fact its Time-Lapse photography with a thing called a tilt-shift lens, never heard of one of these before and am now curious to learn more about them, as it would be interesting to see what I could do with my time-lapse movies using this tilt-shift.
Think I’m going to be doing a lot of research on this particular subject
In the meantime, check out Keith’s other videos here
